Via Graphic Repro On-line, our friends at FESPA are making a version of their Planet Friendly Printing Guide available to all printing companies, even non-FESPA members. The guide “interprets and distils the myriad regulations and certification schemes pertaining to environmental best practice for printers and offers detailed advice on environmental management.” Says FESPA:
There are also links to external websites for additional information and guidance and the Guide is regularly updated to reflect ongoing changes to legislation, ensuring that FESPA’s Association members can keep up to date with any new information, regarding the environmental issues that affect them.... Authored by FESPA’s Michel Caza, in collaboration with environmental consultant, Paul Machin, the Guide offers over 100 pages of expert content, including information and advice on water and air emissions, waste control, energy management and environmental best practice.
The Planet Friendly Printing Guide has hitherto been available only to members of FESPA’s member associations. The most recent version of the guide—containing the newest legislative changes—will remain exclusive to FESPA members. Still, the guide remains a valuable resource for printers of all kinds. Says Graphic Repro On-line:
FESPA is making these resources available to the global print community to promote understanding of the key drivers for adopting sustainable practices, and the routes to ensure our businesses become more planet-friendly. These resources will be complimented [sic] not only by the continued offering of insight and advice on sustainability at FESPA’s events, and an increased offering of advice and consultation on: www.fespa.com via Webinars and other online resources.
