New GMC CEO Henri Dura Sees Bright Future, Expansion for Company

Following the acquisition of GMC Software Technology by Neopost last summer, long-time Chairman and CEO Dr. René Müller has ceded the CEO position to Henri Dura, retaining the position of President of the Board for the time being. Senior Editor Cary Sherburne spoke with Dura to learn more about his background, the status of the integration process post-acquisition, and his strategic view of the future.

Nearly nine months after Neopost’s acquisition of GMC Software Technology, the company has appointed Henri Dura as CEO, with René Müller retaining the position of President of the Board of Directors. In this interview, Dura shares his background, his perception of GMC’s position in the market and its opportunities for the future, and his strategy for taking the company to the next level.

WTT:  Henri, thank you for speaking with us today.  Let’s start by having you share a brief career background with our readers.

HD:  I first became involved in the industry when I started with Xerox in France in 1980. I spent eight years there, holding eight different positions, ending up as the Director in France for the division of the company responsible for selling workstations and data center printing systems. At the time, the Xerox 9700 production laser printer offered the ability to eliminate the need for preprinted forms, because it could print the form and the data in one pass. I have to say that working for Xerox was a great experience, and it is interesting to be closing the loop all these years later, with GMC being a Platinum partner with GMC Inspire recognized as a core product in Xerox’s solutions portfolio.
