UK-based retail marketing and print solutions provider Mauveworx has invested in two new Agfa Jeti Tauro digital presses, including the first Jeti Tauro H3300 XUHS to be installed in the UK. The deal is part of a long-term strategy to increase production capacity, improve sustainability performance and support future business growth.
The investment comprises two high-productivity hybrid printers - the Jeti Tauro H3300 HS and the Jeti Tauro H3300 XUHS, with both machines scheduled for installation during August and September 2026 at the company's 105,000 sq ft production facility in Ferndown, Dorset.
The investment marks a significant milestone in Mauveworx's evolution into a fully digital production environment. Having exited traditional lithographic and screen-printing processes, the company now operates as a 100% digital print business, aligning production capabilities with growing demand for shorter runs, faster turnaround times and greater flexibility from retail and brand customers.
James Martin, Managing Director of Mauveworx, comments: "We're seeing a fundamental shift in what customers need from print production. Today's retail and brand campaigns demand flexibility, speed and shorter run lengths, and digital production is the most effective way to deliver that. These two Tauro presses give us the capacity, productivity and versatility we need to support our ten-year growth plan while continuing to provide the service levels our customers expect."
The company undertook an extensive evaluation process before making its decision, carrying out multiple production trials across Europe and assessing both Agfa and competing technologies.
"We know with Agfa we don't feel like we're a beta trial for the technology," continued Martin. "The Jeti Tauro H3300 XUHS is an evolution of proven technology, and that gave us confidence to become the first UK installation. We completed multiple trials, visited Agfa's inkjet experience centre in Belgium and worked closely with the team to ensure we were making the right investment for our business.
"What became clear throughout the process was that Agfa provides a complete solution. It's not just the machine; it's the inks, the service infrastructure and the technical support behind it. We are entirely comfortable that we've de-risked this investment because of the support and expertise we're experiencing from Agfa."
For Mauveworx, the decision was driven by a combination of performance, automation, productivity and operational efficiency. The advanced feed-and-stack automation, high production speeds and reduced set-up times were particularly attractive for a business increasingly focused on short-run, high-mix production work.
The addition of these hybrid machines will also enable Mauveworx to expand its capabilities across both rigid and roll-fed applications, opening new opportunities in tension fabric graphics, banners, posters and large-format retail displays.
"The hybrid capability is a major advantage for us," said Martin. "It enables us to bring more work in-house, access new markets and handle a broader range of applications from a single platform. The white ink capability also removes the need for the screen printing we previously relied on. The flexibility of the Tauro platform genuinely changes the game for our business."
Sustainability was another key factor influencing the investment decision. The move to advanced digital production technology supports the company's ongoing efforts to reduce energy consumption, waste and environmental impact.
"Sustainability is high on the agenda for our retail customers, who regularly audit and review our environmental performance," Martin added. "Compared to traditional litho and screen printing processes, the reduction in energy consumption, waste and overall production costs is significant. Combined with the renewable energy we generate on-site, these investments help us continue improving our sustainability credentials while increasing productivity."
Alongside the technology itself, Mauveworx cited Agfa's established reputation for service and support as a key differentiator.
"We've experienced challenges with service from suppliers in the past," Martin concluded. "Agfa has a strong pedigree and the Tauro platform has a proven track record in the market. The technology, the support infrastructure, and the relationship we've built with the Agfa team gave us confidence that this was the right choice for the future of our business."
Agfa will provide comprehensive on-site operator training following installation, ensuring Mauveworx can maximise the productivity and capabilities of both systems from day one.
The investment is expected to provide the capacity required to support Mauveworx's long-term growth objectives while further strengthening its position as one of the UK's leading providers of retail marketing activation, large-format graphics and display solutions.
