Last week, we looked at three examples of email segmentation, along with real campaign results, provided by HubSpot Academy. HubSpot Academy sessions often link to user discussions about the topic of the session. So of the HubSpot users who responded in the discussion (whether they are using the paid version of HubSpot or not), what type of email segmentation are they doing?

A review of the 350+ responses was revealing—and the takeaways are not restricted to email. The segments created for these email campaigns can easily be used in print and text marketing, too. So as you read, think about the applications to multiple channels.

About one-third of the respondents either were not yet doing email marketing or, more frequently, doing email marketing but not segmenting. There were lots of comments with “I’m still learning,” “Following,” and “I look forward to trying.” That is, of course, to be expected in an intro course.
