Hassan Igram talks about the importance of networking at industry events
Published on April 8, 2010
My name is Hassan Igram. I'm the CEO and President of Cedar Graphics and it's been awhile since I've been at an NAPL conference so I thought it's probably time to come by and catch up and see what's going on and maybe do a little networking, but more importantly I think in today's environment especially, economic conditions the way they are, it would be a good idea to try to at least some ideas that may help me innovate my business to some degree.
So far, so good. This is the first day and instead of doing the normal sales track thing that I normally do, I thought maybe I'd go to one of the seminars about metrics measuring business performance, especially in comparison to the profit leaders. So I thought that was pretty interesting. I enjoyed that. Sometimes you just need to pick up one or two tips to get an idea of what you can take back and implement; if you try to absorb too much sometimes it can be counterproductive. So that's kind of what my focus is today: try to pick up a tidbit here or there.

What Color is Consistent?
Published: January 20, 2017
Color management works, and it has been available to designers and printers for more than 25 years. Why then do we still make mistakes in color reproduction? Shoshana Burgett of X-Rite Pantone notes that CM has to be understood as something more than calibrating a monitor. It is a set of steps, processes, and tools that must be in place across the entire production workflow, always with monitoring for continuous improvement. Designers who want color to be consistent in all the channels they are now responsible for can find the help they need in CM, Burgett says.
