Spectrum Printing’s Investment in the Komori Impremia IS29 is a Bridge to the Future

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, Ill. – Komori America—Spectrum Printing, a full-service digital and offset printing company based in Tucson, AZ, has installed a new Komori Impremia IS29, a 29-inch sheetfed inkjet UV printing system. It is the fourth Komori press the company has purchased since its inception 33 years ago. The decision to invest in the Impremia IS29 was made after the Spectrum team carefully evaluated all digital options on the market. Spectrum is a company that strives to build long-lasting relationships based on providing real solutions to its customers’ challenges and wanted to partner with a press manufacturer that conducts business with the same values. With years of experience that included both the reliability of Komori presses and Komori’s proven ability to support the company’s needs, Spectrum is confident that selecting the Impremia IS29 was the right decision.

“My philosophy has always been that any new equipment we invest in has to offer even more capabilities to customers than what their needs currently demand,” said George Stewart, president of Spectrum Printing. “With our two digital machines reaching end of life, the fact that the Impremia IS29 runs a 23 x 29-inch sheet provides the opportunity to be a complete source for all of our customers’ business communications needs. The larger sheet size gives us the ability to produce large format applications like customized posters, variable data book printing and pocket folders on heavy stock. With the continually increasing demand for innovative, short-run variable data applications, we see the Impremia IS29 as our bridge to what we know is the future of printing.”

Spectrum offers a variety of extensive print, cross-media marketing and direct mail marketing campaigns. The Impremia IS29 provides the freedom to print on a variety of substrates, provides exact color matching with offset printing and goes directly from print to finishing, making it possible for Spectrum to produce these highly creative, complex variable print applications with a fast turnaround. Additionally, the Impremia IS29 adds to Spectrum’s commitment to sustainable business practices by reducing the waste stream due to faster makeready time and the use of fewer consumables.

“In choosing a manufacturer, it’s important to have confidence they will be there to provide support should you need help,” said Ken Huizenga, operations manager for Spectrum Printing. “We have older Komori presses on the floor that continue to run like brand new and the Komori team has always been there to answer any questions we have. When you work with a manufacturer that offers both dependable equipment and quality people, you build a relationship that makes the decision to invest with them an easy one.”

“When you work with a company like Spectrum Printing, it makes our job easier and certainly more enjoyable,” said Jacki Hudmon, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Komori. “They did thorough research to ensure a positive result for their customers and their bottom line.”
