Delphax Debuts Worlds Fastest Digital Production Machines

Press release from the issuing company

Delphax Technologies is demonstrating two of the world’s fastest digital monochrome printing engines: the new sheetfed Imaggia II, capable of 300ppm, and the Delphax CR1300 continuous-feed system that reaches duplex speeds of up to 300 feet per minute and can print a 250 page paperback book in approximately six seconds. The Delphax Imaggia II Series of cut-sheet digital print systems is offered in 220 and 300 page per minute configurations, while the Delphax CR series continuous feed printer is available in both 900 and 1300 page-per-minute configurations. Both engines utilise the company’s patented electron beam imaging (EBI) print engine technology. EBI technology offers many advantages over comparable print engine technologies including faster print speeds and improved dot uniformity and control. The technology is ideal for high-volume print runs of variable information that can be as much as a full page of individual data, or a little detail as an address, on a wide variety of substrates. Following the announcement of the Delphax acquisition, the ‘Seybold News & View on Electronic Publishing’ stated: "We think it makes sense for [Delphax Technologies], now the biggest user of EBI technology, to take control of this key technology. We're glad to see EBI find a supportive new home where its development can continue. EBI is a wonderfully simple imaging technology that still has plenty of untapped potential." Jay Herman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Delphax Technologies Inc. says: “The Delphax CR Series printer significantly expands our product offering and allows us to serve new markets where our exclusive EBI technology provides a clear competitive edge.” Delphax Technologies provides specialised printing applications for publishing, transaction processing, cheque printing, financial documents, business forms, and direct mail, and these application segments form the basis of the company’s served markets. About Delphax Technologies Delphax Technologies is a global leader in the design, manufacture and delivery of advanced print-production systems for publishing, financial, security, forms and commercial printers worldwide. The company currently has more than 550 systems installed and does business in more than 50 countries.
