Under Renewed Agreement, Production of Time Inc. Publications to Incorporate WAM!NET Content Distribution and Storage Services EAGAN, Minn.--March 28, 2002-- WAM!NET Inc. announced today that Time Inc., a division of AOL Time Warner, has selected WAM!NET's fully managed networking and data storage services to seamlessly connect the publisher's magazine production workflows within a collaborative, digital environment. Time produces multiple publication versions to more than 268 million readers. With more than 64 magazines, including leading titles such as, Time, Sports Illustrated, People, Fortune and Money, Time's complex publishing workflow involves rigorous production schedules and collaboration among numerous editorial, creative, advertising and production teams. A WAM!NET customer since 1997, Time has renewed an agreement under which WAM!NET services connect their New York Headquarters with ten U.S.-based printers and provide secure, remote access to almost one terabyte of digital content used in the creative and production processes. "WAM!NET provides Time Inc. with flexible, highly reliable access to all of our printers and advertising partners,'' said Guy Gleysteen, Director of Printing, AOL Time Warner, Inc. "Renewing this agreement is a reflection of the success that we have enjoyed in the WAM!NET relationship and a clear statement of their importance to our operations.'' Because WAM!NET's outsourced, subscription-based services are a seamless extension of existing information technology (IT) environments, its services allow Time to avoid the significant capital investment and IT management requirements typically associated with establishing and maintaining proprietary global networks. "We are pleased to have renewed our long-standing business relationship with Time,'' said Michael Williams, chief executive officer, WAM!NET. "Since becoming a customer, they have been very influential in helping us to develop and expand our range of content distribution and storage services. In turn, our services have helped Time to achieve significant production efficiencies and a strong competitive advantage through incorporation of a seamless, digital workflow and elimination of costly, time-intensive processes.''
