Corel PHOTO-PAINT and CorelDRAW for Mac Included with HP Scanners

Ottawa, Canada -- July 15, 2002 -- Corel Corporation today announced that Corel PHOTO-PAINT 10 and CorelDRAW 10 for Macintosh will be bundled with the HP Scanjet 7400 series scanners. These two core applications of the Corel Graphics Suite will streamline the image-editing and layout process by enabling users to work directly in native Mac OS X mode. Corel PHOTO-PAINT 10 and CorelDRAW 10 provide HP scanners with the essential tools for professionals who demand high-quality results, said Steve Houck, executive vice-president of strategic relations at Corel Corporation. With intuitive features and import/export support for industry standard file formats, Corel PHOTO-PAINT 10 and CorelDRAW 10 fit seamlessly into the workflow of creative Mac users. We chose Corel’s Macintosh applications for our professional scanner line because they offer the power and OS X stability our customers need, said Hugh Amick, Mac-connect program manager, HP Imaging and Printing Group. The high-speed, uncompromising image quality and versatility of our scanners, coupled with the professional image-editing, painting and layout tools provided by Corel PHOTO-PAINT 10 and CorelDRAW 10 for Macintosh, make for a robust solution for business professionals. These bundles will be localized in English, French and German. Corel PHOTO-PAINT 10 will be bundled on the entire HP Scanjet 7400 series scanners, while CorelDRAW 10 will be included on the HP Scanjet 7490c model.
