Imation to Provide Spicer Imagenation Software for Document Imaging Markets

Press release from the issuing company

OAKDALE, Minn. - Imation Corp. (NYSE: IMN) announced today an agreement with Spicer Corporation to sell, install and service Spicer's popular view, markup and edit software for document imaging markets. This agreement furthers Imation's strategy of providing both incremental and full-scale solutions and services that help document imaging customers transition from analog to digital document management systems. Spicer's Imagenation software will now complement Imation's broad portfolio of document imaging hardware, software, supply and service solutions. "Spicer provides us with powerful document viewing, editing, scanning and cleanup functions that meet the high standards of both Imation and its customers," said John Foggo, Imation's Global Document Imaging Business Manager. "Consistent with our strategy, Imation has built relationships with a number of outstanding suppliers, putting us in a position to uniquely address each stage of the digital transition and in practical, modular ways for our customers, thereby eliminating the hassle and expense of multiple vendor relationships." Imagenation will enable Imation's clients to quickly and reliably view many industry standard files including CAD, raster, vector, hybrid and 3D files, as well as office documents such as Word, WordPerfect and PDF files without the native application that created them. Imation users will also benefit from Imagenation's robust document cleanup tool such as deskew, despeckle and crop for fewer document interpretation errors. Navigation tools that include zoom, scale and rotate compliment reference, detail and thumbnail windows to help users easily find the information they need on documents. "Imation's decades of experience in helping companies manage images, as well as tremendous service ratings, are primary reasons we chose Imation as a partner," said Steve Coutts, Spicer's Vice-president of Sales and Marketing. "We are confident that the integration of our technologies will produce superior document management solutions that will set the standard throughout the world." A global technology company, Imation Corp. supplies a variety of products and services worldwide, specializing in data storage and information management, color management and imaging solutions. For the document imaging market, Imation offers large format document image management, printing and scanning, software and services for a wide range of critical engineering applications.
