Plenty on offer at ADF&PCD New York For Indie Beauty Brands

Press release from the issuing company

ADF&PCD New York 2018, North America’s only dedicated event for the aerosol, dispensing, perfume & cosmetic packaging and design community, returns for its third edition with more on offer for ‘Indie’ beauty brands than ever before. The event, which takes place on 5 & 6 September at the Altman Building & Metropolitan Pavilion, will include interactive features, hands-on workshops and dedicated speaker sessions all designed specifically for those independent brands in attendance.

New for 2018 is the launch of the ‘ICON’ party - where the most influential decisionmakers from global perfume and cosmetics brands will gather to discuss packaging, share best practices, network and do business. ‘ICON’ was established to offer more to independent brands, with the content addressing the unique wants and needs of smaller quantity buyers.

The introduction of the exclusive Pentawards Conference, which is appearing in the Americas for the first time, will also be of particular interest to the ‘Indie’ beauty brands. The sessions will see the best and brightest design minds from all over the globe speaking on how to compete with the industry’s biggest names and educate on how to overcome a variety of challenges in the process.

With content in mind, the show plays host to an exciting ‘Lunch and Learn’ session, titled ‘Indie Brand Packaging Sets the Stakes High’. This interactive discussion will see four speakers talk about how they overcame certain challenges they faced in their bid to launch and how they marketed their solutions to solve the unique problems identified by consumers. The innovative panel will include Sylvie Giret, Founder & CEO at Skinergies, Dexter Cheston, Fashion Designer at DexterDexterDexter, Antonia Burrell, CEO & Founder at Antonia Burrell Holistic Skincare and Fiona Atzler, North America Managing Director at Peclers Paris.

In addition to this, any ‘Indie’ brand in attendance will not want to miss the Innovation Awards, with winners being announced live on the showfloor. The awards have been created to promote the increasing levels of innovation and creativity taking place within the industry, showcasing the latest and most cutting-edge designs and technologies.

Alli McEntyre-Gaharan, Event Director of the ADF&PCD Portfolio, concludes: “Independent brands may not have the deep resources of global brands, but what they lack in capital, they more than make up for in creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. This is why we wanted to be able to give something back to these brands, educating and assisting them on industry best practices, innovative technologies and by offering them some unrivalled networking opportunities. I am really excited about this theme and I know that all the Indie brands who visit the show will benefit hugely from the experience.”
