Press release from the issuing company

New Marketing Event at HOW Design Live 2018 to Strengthen Collaboration Between Marketers and Designers

NEW YORK - HOW Design Live and the American Marketing Association (AMA) have partnered to launch an all-new event for marketers as well as designers – HOW Marketing Live. The new program will be featured at HOW Design Live, April 30 – May 3, 2018 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Mass. HOW Marketing Live will take place April 30 – May 1, 2018. Registration is now open at howdesignlive.com (attendees can save up to $700 on a Big Ticket if they register by Nov. 30).

HOW Marketing Live is a two-day program focused on the intersection of design and marketing. The goal is to strengthen the collaboration between marketers and designers, as they embrace the latest technologies and face new business challenges. The program will explore the new norms in marketing, customer experience and R&D, and how marketing and design should move together in the same direction.

“We always try to stay ahead of the market to help designers navigate a changing environment,” says Gary Lynch, vice president / group show director for HOW Design Live. “HOW Marketing Live is a perfect example of this. Every year we see more marketing professionals attending HOW Design Live, as well as an increasing interest among our design attendees in sessions that blend design and marketing. The convergence of design and marketing is accelerating, and we have a responsibility to our attendees to provide programming on skills and knowledge that advances their careers or better serve their clients.”

Jennifer Faris Severns, chief experience officer at the American Marketing Association, notes, “Together, designers and marketers form the formidable team required to forge new pathways for brands and customers. The 1950s saw a powerful art director and copywriter team revolutionize advertising, and now we are ushering in a new era with AI that is changing everything – how we communicate, inspire, and work together. The HOW Design Live and American Marketing Association partnership ignites this combined force, showing designers and marketers how to combine their strengths in design thinking and strategy to define our future.”

Designers and marketers attending the first-ever HOW Marketing Live will learn strategies for communicating and collaborating effectively with each other in an agile world. Attendees will also build empathy for each other’s roles and recognize the value that designers and marketers each bring to the board room. Other key topics include: how strategy drives key marketing decisions; ROI and the use of data to optimize creative and drive results; marketing automation, social media, SEO, paid strategies and content marketing to deliver integrated campaigns; the foundations of UI and UX design, and the connection between digital and physical touchpoints to deliver memorable customer experiences; and the implications of artificial intelligence on marketing and design.
