bakergoodchild expands further, with equipment purchases for its new base

Press release from the issuing company

Birmingham-based direct mail fulfilment and print management services provider, bakergoodchild, has announced it has significantly added to its equipment plant list, with purchases of new kit. This follows soon after the company’s recent move to a new, purpose built premises in Birmingham and the launch of a new corporate identity at the end of last year.

The new equipment that has been purchased includes; A Matrix MX-370DP industrial laminator, a Ricoh Pro C9100, another Polar guillotine (adding to its existing one), and an additional MBO folder, but this time with a cross-fold option.

The Ricoh Pro C9100 is a high-speed cut-sheet digital printer, capable of delivering superb print quality and high productivity, coupled with fast turnaround performance times. MBO folding machines are designed for speed, accuracy, and cost efficiency, and provide more output and productivity, together with short set-up times. Polar guillotines or cutting machines are durable, programmable cutters with hydraulic drive units and a unique cutting precision.

The Matrix MX-370DP is a multifunctional laminator, capable of laminating both sides of the print application at the same time. Additionally, it can foil and create spot-UV style effects, having a semi-automatic feed and automatic separator as well as anti-curl technology. The duplex option shortens lead times and makes the MX-370DP ideally suited for applications such as menus, book covers, flyers, bespoke foiled packaging, wedding stationery and business cards.

The recent expansion and move has seen the company focus on targeting the transactional mail sector, which covers the areas of business-critical mail, secure mailings, statements, renewals, and billings. This follows the announcement last year that bakergoodchild had attained ISO 27001, the certification which ensures that they meet the highest standards for secure production. At the new site, a dedicated secure printing room has also been built, specifically for this purpose. In line with this, security has also been stepped up at the new premises, with entry for employees now being via smart card only.

The new premises is located on a secure industrial estate in Aston, Birmingham with dedicated loading and delivery areas, staff and customer parking, and easy access to the major motorway networks.

Commenting on the new equipment purchases, bakergoodchild Managing Director, Lorraine Burnell, stated, “This latest spend on new equipment adds to our existing plant list and capabilities, and demonstrates our intent and commitment to our business as we continue to grow and expand further in our new base.”

Lorraine, “As a growing and developing business it is important that we continually invest, add to, and look to update our equipment, as a requirement to meet our customer’s ever-growing demands to satisfy their mailing and print applications.”

This latest announcement also follows the recent development of the company’s new website, which was announced in November last year. The new website can be viewed at www.bakergoodchild.co.uk
