BookBaby Expands Printing, Bindery Production to Meet Increased 2016 Holiday Demand

Press release from the issuing company

Nation’s Leading Self-Publishing Service Company Adds Latest HP, Xerox Equipment To Up Capacity By 1MM+ Books

Pennsauken, NJ – BookBaby today completed installation of new book printing and bindery equipment in its Philadelphia-area printing plant. The company added a Hewlett-Packard Indigo 10000 press for color book work, alongside a new Xerox Nuvera single color press for black-only projects.

The major printing plant expansion also included upgrades in the bindery department with Horizon finishing equipment and a Kama die cutter. BookBaby also added Konstanza and Bordino machines for its hardcover case making lines.

“Self-published authors deserve to have their books printed on the best-of-the-best equipment,” said BookBaby President Steven Spatz. “The large (22” x 29”) HP Indigo paper sheet size allows us to print our growing demand for large format color photography and art books.”

The new equipment arrived just in time to meet a surge in holiday orders. “With the new investment we expect to ship another 1,000,000+ books from our Pennsauken, NJ plant,” said Spatz.
