GAA Celebrates 120 Years

Press release from the issuing company

(August 10, 2008) On September 25, 2008, The Graphic Arts Association's (GAA) will hold its Annual Meeting celebrating 120 years of service to the printing industry.   We will be honoring two of our founding member companies; George H. Buchanan Company and National Publishing Company for their years of dedication and commitment to the industry and to the Association.

The event will be held at The Old Original Bookbinders in Philadelphia with two special guest speakers.  Henry Freedman will be speaking on the topic " Changing Times."  He will be covering the critical issues of the future of our industry.   Freedman is the Graphic Arts Monthly Technology Editor as well as a print scientist and inventor.   We are also thrilled to have Janet Green, the first female Chairperson of the Board of PIA/GATF in its history.  Ms. Green is a 25 year veteran of the printing industry and has worked in nearly every department in her company, a third generation, family owned firm which has been in operation in Southern California since 1908.

GAA's Annual Meeting will begin at 5 p.m. with a general meeting and the installation of new officers.   The evening will continue with our guests Henry Freedman and Janet Green followed by a reception.   The meeting attracts approximately 100 members and guests each year.  In a year filled with uncertainty, let's celebrate the good in our industry!

Tickets to GAA's Annual Meeting can be purchased for $55.00 for GAA Members and their guests and $75.00 for Non Members by contacting Sandy Greenhalgh at GAA at 215-396-2300 or email [email protected].       For more information on the Graphic Arts Association and timely events, please visit www.gaa1900.com.
