pressSIGN 8 release supports Multi-channel profiles

Press release from the issuing company

Bodoni North America, Belleville, Canada - a primary supplier of pressSIGN software from Bodoni Systems Ltd (UK) announce the release of pressSIGN 8.

pressSIGN 8 is a fully featured color measurement software to help printers achieve color target standards, and to provide a database of results for color management of the printing press.

pressSIGN 8 new features include support for ISO 12647–7 digital print targets, encompassing proof verification, with the original features of the companies' proofSIGN product. Users can now automate the inclusion of measurements from EFI Fiery RIP with Epson Spectroproofers, in order to build a database of verification results.

Support for expanded color gamut ICC profiles further enhance its color abilities with CMYK0GV and other extended gamut printing processes. pressSIGN has long been able to support up to 16 colors, but these were commonly formed from a CMYK profile plus custom settings for the extended colours, or spot color libraries. Now pressSIGN will monitor all colors in an extended gamut profile with the solid colour and tints targets from that profile.

New Flexo and digital press options make colour measurement features even more at home in those sectors, extending its appeal beyond its traditional print user base.

G7® monitoring is enhanced with new scoring system options extended towards G7 certification standards.

pressSIGN 8 builds upon a new database structure which is fully compatible with new operating systems, Mac and Windows, and affords faster input and search operations. pressSIGN is available in a variety of formats with its most advanced option, the Global Print Management (GPM) version, catering for large print groups, print management organisations and brand owners. It links sites to one another in order to exchange color data, target standards, libraries and results, in real time, across the network.
