Press release from the issuing company

Customized for the Chinese market, the Jointly Developed FA-Falcon Comprises AVT’s Inspection Software & Workflow, Integrated with Focusight’s Hardware, for Sale in China through Focusight

New Solution to be Showcased at All in Print China Show,  October 18-22 in Shanghai

Hod-Hasharon, Israel – AVT, the world leader in print inspection, print process control and quality assurance, has partnered with leading Chinese image detection and inspection solutions provider Focusight to develop a new cost-effective 100% inspection system for wide web applications in China.  The new FA-Falcon combines AVT’s proven inspection software – which employs cutting-edge algorithms and technologies for precise high-speed workflow solutions – with Focusight’s precision hardware components and engineering, resulting in a best-in-class inspection solution available to current and new customers throughout the expanding Chinese printing and packaging sectors.

FA-Falcon, which will be demonstrated at the All in Print China Show, October 18-22 in Shanghai, represents the first time that print and packaging manufacturers in China can utilize AVT’s unsurpassed inspection platform in conjunction with Focusight’s premium hardware and servicing at a highly competitive price point.  All sales and servicing for this new inspection solution will be handled directly by Focusight; Focusight also will handle installation, training and support, with AVT’s assistance, so that both teams work together to ensure best availability and support for customers in China.

Adaptable for installation either on printing presses or rewinders, FA-Falcon provides 100% inspection for a variety of web-based packaging applications, supporting a broad range of materials including various flexible packaging substrates, transparent films, paper, carton, foil, holographic foils and more.  The system is equipped with high-speed, high-resolution color cameras capable of supporting typical web widths of 650 to 1,450 millimeters. The FA-Falcon offers optional modules for enhanced process control abilities, including WorkFlow Link, which transfers quality data from the press to the rewinder for efficient removal of defective material.

The new solution is derived from the two companies’ vast inspection experience. With over 20 years of experience and more than 4,000 inspection system installations worldwide, AVT’s leadership status is bolstered by one of the print inspection industry’s largest R&D groups, as well as supplier partnerships with the most prominent names in printing, such as Comexi, PCMC, Bobst Firenze, Nilpeter and MPS and including key digital players such as HP Indigo, Landa and Gallus-Heidelberg.

Meanwhile, Focusight has sold and installed more than 1,000 inspection systems in various markets and segments throughout China and beyond.  The company enjoys an exemplary reputation for cost-effective, flexible optical engineering solutions tailored to address the specific needs of the Chinese market – including expertise in serving complex systems automation and defect imaging.  It is also a trendsetter: Focusight’s Beijing-based R&D team was the first of its kind in China to engage in industrial image detection system integration.

“Forming this strategic alliance with our colleagues at Focusight allows us to combine the skills and technological assets of both companies, showcased through our new FA-Falcon solution for print and packaging manufacturers in China,” said Jaron Lotan, CEO of AVT.  “Focusight’s Chinese market knowledge and local capabilities and reach, combined with its cost effectiveness, makes it the perfect partner for AVT, and the new solution has the potential for widespread adoption in the fast-growing Chinese marketplace.”

“When we founded Focusight, we really saw AVT’s solutions as industry benchmarks – standard-setting, world-leading print inspection and quality assurance,” said Ken He, CEO of Focusight.  “Focusight’s new partnership with AVT is a step toward emulating it, in terms of gaining prestige in the market here in China. Both companies fully understand and recognize each other’s culture and customer value. Using each company’s innovative technologies, this strategic alliance will surely create and promote groundbreaking products and helpful services for China’s wide web printing customers
