HP Indigo Color Consistency Project at Graph Expo 2016 Proves Print Quality Meets Critical Brand Standards

Press release from the issuing company

Pristine color quality is a non-negotiable standard for leading brands, such as Gelato, an award-winning company that connects print buyers with print providers via its digital print cloud network. A recent project completed by five HP Indigo customers from around the world leveraging the HP PrintOS Media Locator app proves that HP Indigo quality meets Gelato’s and other companies’ strict brand standards – even across presses and locations.

On display in booth 1825 at Graph Expo 2016, HP is showcasing multiple posters printed by Atlanta-based Bennett Graphics, Schätzl Druck & Medien GmbH & Co. KG in Germany, Friedmann Print Data Solutions in Germany, Icones in France and Elanders in the U.K. that are virtually identical. The posters demonstrate perfect color matching between HP Indigo 10000 and 7800 Digital Presses at each customer location. The print service providers (PSPs) involved in the project leveraged HP PrintOS to collaborate on the color and substrate to ensure consistent results.

“We’re excited about the new tools HP offers through PrintOS that transform what used to be a time-consuming and manual process to a simple, automated and repeatable process,” David Bennett, president, Bennett Graphics. “PrintOS enables us to collaborate easily with other print providers in Gelato’s network, ultimately allowing Gelato to deliver its end customers perfect, consistent color no matter where the job is printed.”

A media fingerprinting profile, which captures the exact colors on the press within a specific timeframe, was uploaded to the PrintOS Media Locator app, and the color profile was downloaded and leveraged across all of the presses involved. PrintOS tools enabled the print providers to ensure consistent color and flawless results for each of the posters printed.

“HP Indigo color technology enables the independent printers in our global network to reach the color standard we need and to keep consistency between print runs, presses and sites,” said Fredrik Andersson, COO, Gelato. “For Gelato this is business-critical since our customers require the same results everywhere and anytime.”
