Ilford Introduce New Fine Art Washi Paper Into the Award-Winning Galerie Range
Wednesday, September 14, 2016
ILFORD announce the introduction of the latest fine art product into the ILFORD GALERIE range. GALERIE Prestige Washi Torinoko is a 110gsm, traditional Japanese base with a fine textured matt surface.
ILFORD GALERIE Prestige Washi Torinoko offers photographers a traditional Japanese Washi paper with the performance characteristics of the unique ILFORD inkjet coating. The base is manufactured exclusive for ILFORD using a traditional Japanese Tanmo machine that produces a paper that is so refined that it looks like it has been handmade.
Arnoud Mekenkamp, Managing Director, ILFORD Imaging Europe GmbH commented on the introduction of the new paper “We are always striving to introduce new products into the GALERIE range that meet the demanding needs of our customers and we believe that the new Japanese inspired paper will offer photographers an alternative to the traditional fine art papers on the market today.”
Mekenkamp continues “The history of Japanese paper manufacturing is fascinating and this particular paper is produced in the Echizen area of Japan, renowned for the production of traditional Japanese paper for over 1500 years. We have then applied the ILFORD inkjet coating that provides the final print with a wide colour gamut and consistency which we know is important to our customers.”
ILFORD GALERIE Prestige Washi Torinoko, contains no optical brighteners, is also acid free and is available in both sheets and rolls.
ILFORD GALERIE offers a range of fine art, photo and speciality papers including five TIPA award winning products. GALERIE Prestige Gold Fibre Silk, GALERIE Prestige Smooth Gloss and Pearl, GALERIE Prestige Mono Silk and more recently GALERIE Prestige Gold Fibre have all won this distinguished accolade.
