The Capital’s Only Packaging Show Plays Host to The Starpack Awards

Press release from the issuing company

For the first time, The Starpack Awards will be hosted at Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London 2016. The UK's premier annual awards scheme now in its 58th year, will take place on day two of the show, 15th September, in the Keynote Theatre, between 13:00 – 15:00.

Gerry Sherwood, Event Director for the Easyfairs’ Packaging Portfolio, comments: “We are thrilled to welcome The Starpack Awards to the show this year. We have been supporters of the Awards for many years, but this arrangement is a major coup for the show. It also brings the Starpack Industry Awards closer to the heart of the packaging community.

“Innovation is at the core of everything we do, and we are firm supporters of any initiative that recognises and actively encourages companies to revolutionise and challenge the current thinking in the packaging industry. With the doors opening in less than a month, and the show really starting to gather pace, it is an exciting time for all those attending the show and the Awards. Make sure you don’t miss out!”

The Awards

The objective of the Starpack Awards Scheme is to identify innovation in packaging design and technology, recognising invention, environmental impact and functionality.

The products entered into the Awards must show innovation in design, construction, manufacturing and materials technology, in order to be considered. They must have environmental credentials relating to material usage, manufacturing and at the end of packaging life cycle, for example re-use, recycling or recovery. Plus, they must also champion the needs of the consumer in relation to the functionality of packaging throughout its life cycle and minimising product waste.

In addition to the full seminar programme, the 2016 show boasts a packed exhibition hall full of over 170 leading international suppliers. Plus, new for 2016, The Dieline Conference, the first ever to appear outside the US, will deliver a series of sessions on the challenges and opportunities that arise when designing a brand.

The show also features the freshly rebranded The Beauty Forum, The Drinks Symposium, The Great Innovation Debate, The Innovation Wall, and an array of free-to-attend Learnshops seminars, delivered by a who’s who of international industry experts, including Harrods and Britvic.
