New Prinergy Version 2.0 Available Worldwide

Press release from the issuing company

Heidelberg, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HDDG.F) the leading supplier of solutions for the entire printing and publishing industry, has announced that Version 2.0 of its workflow management software PrinergyÅ is available worldwide since end of October. Version 2.0 comprises the following modules: Prinergy ConnectTM, Prinergy LinkTM (previously known as Prinergy Delta Connect), Prinergy DirectTM and Prinergy InSiteTM. Prinergy 2.0 is the latest version of the innovative Prinergy workflow management solution, and follows on directly from the success of Prinergy 1.1. The new version speeds up workflow-supported production by harnessing the power of the Internet. With the individual components of Version 2.0, Prinergy is now a product family, which is tailor-made to meet the high demands of the graphic arts industry. "With Prinergy 2.0, we have chiefly addressed our customers' requirements, and we are now offering the next generation of the world's leading workflow management system with even more functionality and advantages for the user. It demonstrates our commitment to setting new standards for computer-to-plate and computer-to-film with innovative solutions," states Sabine Roob, head of Workflow Product Management. "Our customers' productivity and profitability will enjoy a significant boost." The latest version of Prinergy means that Heidelberg's customers remain at the cutting edge of workflow technology, enabling Heidelberg to further extend its leading position as a supplier of integrated solutions for the graphic arts industry. Prinergy Connect and Prinergy Link The Prinergy Connect and Prinergy Link modules contain extensions for the automatic management and processing of complex print jobs involving regional variations of documents. The import and export of print jobs using CFX format (Content File Exchange), direct input of CT/LW and PDF/X-1A, improved trapping, color management and database reporting are among the list of additional new features. Prinergy InSite Prinergy InSite is an integrated Internet portal for the Prinergy workflow's prepress environment, which enables printshops to tie in their customers into production by offering new services. The customers can download job data directly via the world wide web into the printshop's Prinergy workflow system, or indeed they can retrieve job data from the system. InSite enables customers to display the job status, proof print jobs at remote locations, effect changes using annotated PDF files and approve or reject pages directly in the Prinergy database. This speeds up communication between printshops and their customers and optimizes the production time. Prinergy Direct Prinergy Direct is a remote system for plate creation, which accepts CFX jobs from other Prinergy systems and renders this information to control a wide range of filmsetters, platesetters and proofers. Prinergy Direct can also process imposed PostScriptTM and PDF entries. Workflows are further optimized thanks to automated processing using hot folders. The system offers proofing features, PostScript and PDF-OPI, plus options for CIP-3 compatible digital ink zone presettings, screening, color management and archiving.
