Ricoh Corporation Showcases Versatile Color Scanner LAS VEGAS, -- Ricoh Corporation, the Dependable Digital‰ Output company, introduces the Ricoh Aficio IS330DC, a versatile departmental scanner that delivers full color and high quality images, here at COMDEX 2000, Booth #L5527, in the Las Vegas Convention Center. A high-speed flatbed color office scanner, the Ricoh Aficio IS330DC delivers a wide range of features designed to enhance productivity and efficiency in any office environment where effective document management is critical. Its rich feature set and high-speed image processing capabilities will suit a wide variety of imaging applications, from entry-level to mid-range needs. The Ricoh Aficio IS330DC offers high image quality with true 600dpi optical resolution and color depth of 36-bit input. A maximum output resolution of 2400 dpi and 12-bit input ensures crisp, clean and legible print-outs. With a scanning speed of 38 pages-per-minute (ppm) in black and white, and 13 ppm in color, the Ricoh Aficio IS330DC is the fastest in its class. The Ricoh Aficio IS330DC's flexible design incorporates a 50-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) with a built-in ARDF (Auto Reverse Duplex Feeder), for duplex scanning. To ensure superior reproduction quality, the Ricoh Aficio IS330DC automatically checks both the vertical and horizontal dimensions of the original image, making it the first scanner that offers Automatic Size Detection in Book mode-without assistance from the operator. The versatile Ricoh Aficio IS330DC offers a variety of functions designed exclusively with the end-user in mind. These functions include Area Extraction, which allows one area of a selected page to be scanned, and enhanced image processing, which helps eliminate noise and uses text smoothing to produce crisp and clear electronic images. In addition to the standard SCSI 2 & 3 I/F, the Ricoh Aficio IS330DC offers IEEE 1394 I/F as optional support based on the user's environment as well as a Network I/F Option which comes with ScanRouter Lite and DeskTopBinder version 2 and supports Ricoh's ScanRouter Professional version 2 software. The Ricoh Aficio IS330DC is provided with industry standard ISIS and TWAIN drivers that connect to, and operate under, Windows95, 98, Me and NT4.0 and 2000. The Ricoh Aficio IS330DC will be available in the first quarter of 2001 at a suggested price of less than $4,000.
