Budco Enhances Its Digital Printing & Production Capabilities

Friday, June 18, 2004

Press release from the issuing company

DETROIT, June 17 -- Budco, the Highland Park based marketing services company, announces some important new equipment in its Digital Printing and Production area. This equipment enhances the company's capabilities in the post-creative, pre-fulfillment arena -- the digital production, finishing and assembly processes. New to Budco are the following important systems: Xerox DocuColor iGen3. This full color, variable digital color printing system, allows users to create highly customized communications and offers significant advancements in productivity, image quality, and flexibility. Budco's Information Technologies capabilities allow Budco customers to maximize the level of sophistication possible in personalized documents for direct mail and other applications, greatly increasing their overall marketing impact. Duplo 5000 Vertical 20 Bin Finishing System. This high-speed collating and booklet making system delivers a fully automated solution for inline collation, folding, stitching and trimming. It is one of the most productive and technologically advanced solutions available in the industry. Buhrs BB300 Four Station Inserting System. This high-speed modular system provides a high quality solution for a wide variety of inserting needs. Its key advantage is its ability to accommodate extremes in sizes -- envelopes measuring 3-3/4" x 6-1/4" to 10" x 13". "In the Production world, it's all about being modular and flexible," said Budco Group Vice President of Operations, Robert Hyman. "A service provider must be able to respond to the requirements of a specific job with maximum productivity and efficiency. "In the case of the systems that Budco installed, they were chosen because of their modular nature, and the ability to 'move' and 'add' components -- high speed shrink wrappers, tipping equipment or automated addressing systems, for example -- creating customized solutions for our customers on an immediate basis. "Our latest investments increase the range of services Budco is able to provide to its customers. In some cases -- namely with the iGen3 and the Buhrs finishing system -- we are one of only a hand full of companies in the Midwest offering those systems." Budco provides marketing services outsourcing support to a variety of corporate customers. A major area of competency is Digital Printing and Production. Budco has 65,000 square feet of digital printing and production space at its Highland Park, Michigan headquarters. The company handles a variety of jobs including direct mail, custom packaging, special order fulfillment, and automated and manual assembly.
