Press release from the issuing company

The Masterwork MK420Q Automatic Sheet Inspection Machine Optimizes Efficiency and Competitiveness

Masterwork USA, a leading finishing manufacturer of folding carton and packaging equipment headquartered in Tianjin, China., drew enthusiastic crowds to its dynamic display of its popular MK 420Q MINI automatic sheet inspection machine at GRAPH EXPO 15 in Chicago’s McCormick Place. GRAPH EXPO, the printing industry’s fall classic previewing the newest equipment, was one of the first trade shows in which Masterwork made its debut as a new strategic partner with Heidelberg. The show presented great booth traffic and many customer demos on its MK 420Q MINI automatic inspection machine. GRAPH EXPO 15 and the co-located CPP EXPO were held from September 13 - 16, 2015 at Chicago's McCormick Place South.

“Masterwork attended Graph Expo because it is a unique opportunity for us to demonstrate our winning post-press strategies for North American printers that want to succeed in today's print industry,” says Carol Jiang, Vice President, Masterwork USA. “We’re also pleased to combine our R&D focus and our manufacturing capabilities with Heidelberg’s support network. It is certainly a winning combination. This mutual commitment ensures the availability of innovative products backed by the largest service force in the industry. Our products, such as the MK 420 MINI Q, allow our customers to achieve higher profits through efficient production, maximize quality and efficiency, and attain the highest performance with the best tools to do the job. Masterwork is known for its high manufacturing standards and a strong commitment to R & D. We were able to hold in-person demos of our MK 420 MINI Q offering 100 percent inspection on each and every carton in an entire run and providing yet another layer of protection for our customers. We’re producing machines that no other manufacturer can match! Attendees were impressed with our intelligent and highly efficient machines along with our quality guarantee. We were very satisfied with our display and the results from our showing at Graph Expo.”

The MK 420 MINI Q high-speed, high precision automatic sheet inspection machine permits a graphic arts firm to increase production capacity, reduce costs, and carry out 100% on-line inspections throughout 24 hours of uninterrupted operation.  The Mini’s new technology removes the cumbersome human inspection process with its inefficiency and inaccuracy and allows the 420MINI’s high-speed CCD camera to detect the slightest deviations from the standard sample. The 420MINI Q has a highly-adjustable patented light source that can make meticulous and accurate adjustments according to the different printing processes, such as laser or holographic foil stamping. This light source, found only on MK machines, can filter the reflective light on the sheets to make the image clear and give the best detection results. The MK 420MINI offers a maximum running speed of 75,000 sheets/hour. It will take a maximum sheet size of 420mmx350mm and a minimum sheet size of 70mmx70mm.

Key benefits of the MK420Q are:

  • 100% inspection on all cartons in specific runs
  • Detects production errors - whether it’s printed, hot foiled or embossed
  • Detects paper board imperfections - including hairline blemishes and hickeys
  • Detects barcodes and security marks on the reverse side of cartons
  • Non-destructive routing of faulty boxes
  • Soft touch handling of cartons, process is smooth and seamless
