Large or small, Colter & Peterson has what the SGIA Expo audience desires

Press release from the issuing company

Paterson, NJ – As Colter & Peterson (booth 4364) prepares for its third consecutive appearance at the SGIA Expo, this year’s attendees can expect to find a product to help make the finishing end of their operation more efficient, safer and cost effective. C&P www.papercutters.com will display three versions of its industry-leading Microcut® computer control systems - which can fit any brand paper cutter ranging in size from 20-150 inches - at the show, being held November 4-6 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

“Microcut has close to 35,000 installations, so it has built a terrific worldwide reputation that mirrors what Colter & Peterson has been known for more than 70 years. We build great paper cutters that last forever and we exceed the level of service our customers expect,” said Bruce Peterson, President of Colter & Peterson. “Our high quality machines are built with state-of-the-art electronics and Microcut matches that technology level. When you combine them, you can’t find another machine on the market that matches our capability and reliability.”

Versatility is a much admired trait that accurately defines Colter & Peterson, North America’s foremost authority and largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment. Microcut’s automated back gauge system improves production rates since it gives operators everything they need, from touch screen control to memorizing cut sequences and positioning the blade for precise cuts within 1/64th of an inch.

Colter & Peterson offers two new and premier paper cutting brands. Prism® is an ideal choice for those looking at machines in the 31.5” to 54” range, and the powerful Saber® line is an excellent choice for the wide and large format market. The Saber XXL and X15 Plus range in size between 65” to 137”, perform very well on solid substrates and work well with styrene and corrugated plastic sheets, and have the capability to cut material six inches thick.

C&P also specializes in used and rebuilt machines and all are retrofit with Microcut. One of the deals the company closed at last year’s SGIA Expo involved a reconditioned POLAR paper cutter for a Vancouver area full service commercial printer.

PrismTech Graphics is known for its outstanding Point-of-Purchase work, and its biggest account is a large national retail franchise they service from British Columbia to Ontario. They also specialize in outdoor work (posters and vinyl banners) and applied graphics, producing large wall, floor and window graphics and vehicle wraps.

Owner Paul Milburn purchased the 30” cutter specifically for the precision trimming of smaller items such as retail strips and decals. “The new cutter is giving us the capability to take on more work,” he said, recalling that he had originally approached C&P at the SGIA Expo a year earlier in search of a larger size paper cutter.

Microcut COLOR WS, Microcut Plus and Microcut JR are among the systems that will be featured at SGIA. C&P invites attendees to visit booth 4364 and learn more about quick blade changes, how the loadable USB device works for CIP 3/4 files, safety features and benefits and more.
