Dimension Design Adds Second MCT Digital VersaTech Laser Digital Die-Cutting System for Event and Exhibit Production

Tuesday, October 06, 2015

Press release from the issuing company

Milwaukee, WI/Glenview, IL - MCT Digital recently implemented a second MCT VersaTech™ - all in one laser cutting solution for Dimension Design, a leading brand execution partner for the event and exhibit industry, based in Glenview, IL.

The MCT Versa-Tech™ finishing system delivers unsurpassed cutting versatility, speed and material range within a single platform at an affordable price. It offers a liquid cooled 100W CO2 laser and a liquid cooled 2.5kW (peak), 60,000 rpm router spindle; drop-in tools for kiss cutting; oscillation, creasing, driven rotary driven blade cutting and a proven, dual x-drive servo system.

Dimension Design purchased their first VersaTech last year for their Las Vegas production facility. When the company opened this hub it knew speed and accuracy were going to be key ingredients for success in this location. Dimension Design studied the alternatives and determined MCT VersaTech, with the capabilities and versatility of a laser plus traditional routing and knife cutting on one platform, looked like a good fit for their requirements.

After a thorough test cycle and full implementation in Las Vegas, Dimension Design decided to upgrade their Chicago production facility to gain similar productivity and capability increases.

Dimension Design is an innovative branding partner that delivers custom environments to support face-to-face marketing activities of respected exhibit houses, marketing agencies, production and event companies and their business clients. It uses aluminum, specialty fabrics, printed graphics, lighting and other impactful materials to transform space into amazing environments.

Many of their grand format projects are well over 10 feet high, span hundreds of feet in length and require intricate cutting. The custom nature of their offerings pointed toward the fully automated laser solution that only MCT offers. The VersaTech’s traditional routing and knife cutting also play a large role in shaping other substrates used in their custom solutions.

According to Chad McNeal, President and Chief Innovation Officer, Dimension Design, “The new capabilities of the MCT VersaTech laser solution are really impressive. It can handle all of our grand format substrate cutting needs. And, being a single platform, its footprint is small and training is minimized to a single operating system.”
