Meridea Financial Software Turns to Bowne for Quality Documentation and Flexible Services

NEW YORK, May 24 -- Bowne Global Solutions, a leading provider of translation and technical publication services, announced today that it has completed the documentation for Meridea Product Suite, which enables retail financial institutions to offer streamlined and accessible banking services to customers through service and self-service channels. BGS was responsible for designing and tailoring Meridea's customer documentation process and producing the documentation. To help streamline the project, BGS integrated its recommended documentation process into Meridea's product development cycle. The documentation, which BGS produced in English, is based on Meridea's technical specifications and face-to-face interviews with subject matter experts. It is the first time Meridea has worked with a provider of technical publication services to produce its documentation. "BGS listened to what we wanted and suggested a solution based on our requirements," said Harri Mantynen, Senior Vice President of Engineering & Services at Meridea. "It included a well-defined process that allowed us to analyze various stages of the project and the resources that needed to be allocated to it at each stage. The solution worked well and BGS was able to adjust to changes in the configuration and size of the team on very short notice. The quality of the end result is excellent." "When the BGS's technical publication team started working with Meridea, there was not a lot of prior documentation or processes that we could refer to," said Mikko Hakkarainen, Country Manager for BGS in Finland. "Basically what we did was familiarize ourselves with the product development cycle at Meridea. We then developed a client documentation process that best fit Meridea's unique needs. Today Meridea's documentation process is integrated into its product development and is a natural part of the development cycle." All off the technical publication projects for Meridea have had a BGS project manager located at the BGS office who took care of managing resources and billing, as well as an onsite BGS project coordinator who planned, supervised and implemented the authoring work with the technical writers. The team reported to Meridea on a weekly basis.
