Graph Expo stage draws attention to Colter & Peterson’s newest paper cutter, optical sheet counter

Press release from the issuing company

Paterson, NJ – By demonstrating equipment that addresses key needs in the marketplace, Colter & Peterson attracted a good amount of commercial and packaging printers and converters who attended Graph Expo, held September 13-16 in Chicago.

“This year’s crowd seemed to be a little lighter than last year, but we left the show very optimistic. We had many good conversations with people who liked what they saw with our demonstrations of the new Prism® P80 paper cutter and Function Control P7 optical sheet counter,” said Bruce Peterson, President of Colter & Peterson. “Now that the show is over, the real work begins in following up with our customers and prospects who visited the booth.”

The 31.5” Prism P80 caught the eye of many for its design qualities and performance reliability. Easy to operate and all-day-long durable, it comes with a new slotless table and is equipped with a Microcut® package that includes a 15” touch screen.

“Our Prism line is very successful for many reasons, and people love its automated technology,” remarked Peterson. “It gets the job done quickly and the new technology makes paper cutting safer than ever. I had quite a few people at Graph Expo walk away impressed by what they saw of the P80, and the price point for this machine also gives them plenty to think about.”

C&P is North America’s foremost authority and largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment, a major reason why they are the North American representative for the Function Control P7 optical sheet counter. Demos of this machine left Graph Expo visitors counting the ways they can save money, in addition to finding a foolproof way to accurately counts paper stacks, board, corrugated and other substrates.

“Many of the people we spoke with were intrigued by the P7 sheet counter,” said Peterson. “This is a machine that we recently began promoting to our customer base, and there are a variety of applications where it can be used, especially for inventory purposes. It’s designed to reduce counting errors, and I’ve heard many stories where people ordered rolls of 5,000 sheets only to find when the work was done, they were short by 200 or 300. This counter eliminates those types of problems, with technology that produces accurate counts simply with the touch of a button.”

The P7 offers a compact, vertical footprint, handling stacks up to 70” in height. It has door panels that can be accessed on multiple sides, with a flexible touchscreen panel that can be located on three sides in different working heights. The LED indicator lets the operator know when the stack is in the correct range.

Peterson said C&P’s Microcut® retrofit systems for paper cutters continued to engage conversation at the show. Automated and affordable, they are available for any brand cutter ranging in size between 20” to 150” and cost a fraction of the price of a new paper cutter.
