Lumin Publishing Finds Value With the MEI Portico Storefront

Press release from the issuing company

The Publishing Firm Uses Portico to Boost Zions Bank Community Magazine

Jenkintown, PA - Managing Editor Inc (MEI) today announced Lumin Publishing’s release of its iPad app, “Zions Bank Community,” powered by MEI Portico and Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. The magazine’s app features a Portico-powered branded storefront that integrates seamlessly with DPS.

Zions Bank, a regional bank that operates more than 125 full-service financial centers between Idaho and Utah, used Lumin Publishing to create its “Community” magazine. The magazine is distributed by Zions Bank six times a year to 50,000 of its top account holders and business clients. The magazine serves as a regional lifestyles publication focused on travel, health, food and finance.

Zions Bank decided to publish its content digitally in addition to the printed material, which added value to its brand by offering more clients access to valuable and interesting content in places where they are already looking. When working on the DPS app for Zions Bank, Lumin Publishing added a Portico storefront to enhance the user experience.

With the Portico storefront, any person who uses the Zions Bank Community app can be guided to locate current and past issues of “Community” magazine along with relevant related links and apps. The storefront allows the Zions Bank brand to be on display while letting users discover the content they need in a short amount of time.

Lumin Publishing chose to use Portico as an out-of-the-box solution, taking an existing template and adding Zions branding and content. This solution allows the Portico storefront to be managed by only one person instead of a large development team, saving Lumin Publishing time and money with its digital publishing process.

“The Zions Bank Community app project truly highlights the value of Portico,” said Brett Kizner, director of product management. “Companies can find clear success having just one person administer Portico, and fantastic looking storefronts can be built right out-of-the-box with minimal turnaround time.”
