Arziro, a Powerful Design Tool from Agfa Graphics for the 'General-Security Print' market

Press release from the issuing company

A state-of-the-art plugin for Adobe Illustrator is a new addition to the software portfolio from Agfa Graphics, offering an anti-counterfeit design solution for general-security printing and personalization. Arziro Design will be on display at High Security Printing Lima, June 22-24.

Inspired by Fortuna, Agfa Graphics’ design software for the high-security print market, Arziro Design can create very complex, security patterns in seconds for general-security print applications. Arziro Design is easy to use, running on a standard Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 system for Mac and Windows.

According to a European Commission report, nearly 7-10% of world trade is infected by counterfeit goods, costing brand owners approximately EUR 500 billion. The report calculates counterfeiting as being responsible for the loss of around 2.5 million jobs across the G20 countries.

"The counterfeiting epidemic has caused many companies to rethink their manufacturing strategies and improve their technology so they can more effectively stay ahead of the pirates and prevent further financial losses," said Andy Grant, Global Head of Software, Agfa Graphics. "Inferior products in the marketplace create problems for respected brands and the economy.  We developed Arziro Design in response to the growth of those threats."

Arziro Design was created for general-security printers and designers in brand protection and those who feel the need for protection against counterfeiting and “digifeiting”. Arziro Design is ideal for companies involved in the design and production of packaging and labels, tickets and coupons, tax stamps, post stamps, company access cards, bank cards, and general document security such as breeder documents, certificates or diplomas.

Thanks to the seamless integration with Adobe Illustrator, designers have access to a wide collection of design modules and tools in their known environment. Arziro Design helps create complex artwork that are true Adobe Illustrator elements in the end. It is even possible to 'enrich' existing creations with security design elements from Arziro or to modify the Arziro creations by altering the pre-defined design parameters in the plug-in. As such, Arziro offers an easy to use creative platform for designers in this specific market.

Didn't they introduced the same one in 2007? https://www.ephotozine.com/article/secuseal-software-protection-from-agfa-6715

Agfa Graphics announced today that it has released a new security solution for those who want to offer their customers advanced protection from piracy and unlawful duplication of designs on packaging, labels and other printed materials. With Agfa's new :Secuseal 1.0, a set of plug-ins on Adobe Illustrator and applicable with all standard design workflows, designers can add security elements to any printed design.

:Secuseal was created for designers and printers who want to offer their customers more advanced security printing measures. Clients with concerns over packaging and labelling security would include makers of luxury goods, pharmaceutics, official documents, identity cards and other branded products.

"With :Secuseal, Agfa has built on existing security printing technology but has also re-envisioned it as a single, solid solution that works seamlessly with all workflows in which Adobe Illustrator is being used or PDFs created," said Koen Heyndrickx, Product Manager Security Printing SW, Agfa Graphics. "This is the start of an exciting and important new product line for Agfa that will address the security issues facing designers, printers and product managers in today's highly competitive marketplace."

The security modules of :Secuseal are able to create complex backgrounds or convert images into complex linework patterns. There are four modules in the plug-in set. Each allows a specific security measure to be implemented directly on a printed design.

With :Secuseal, anti-counterfeiting measures of printed images will be easier to initiate, more reliable and imitations will be more easily recognizable. The security level of any individual project can be determined by the designer, and the plug-ins are password-protected.

"The :Secuseal solution is both easy to learn and quick to implement, enabling designers, printers and product managers to protect the value of their designs, and to stay ahead of the competition and would-be counterfeiters," added Heyndrickx.
