InfoTrends Collaborates with FESPA on FESPA Print Census Research

Press release from the issuing company

Weymouth, MA - As part of an ongoing collaboration with FESPA, InfoTrends is pleased to announce the completion of FESPA’s Print Census. With over 1200 respondents worldwide, this survey exposes six overarching trends driving the global wide format and specialty print community.

At FESPA 2015 which has just concluded in Cologne, Germany, Ron Gilboa, Director of InfoTrends’ Functional & Industrial Printing Service, provided insight and an analytical perspective to the results of this survey as well as supported in bringing this important research to fruition. According to Ron “This landmark research is a testament to the resiliency of printing industries, as print service providers continue to invest in digital printing technologies aimed at expanding opportunities in key industry segments such as graphics communications, packaging, textile, laminates, as well as a range of functional printing applications in transportations, construction, and many aspects of engineering.”

Through this research, FESPA and InfoTrends highlighted six market drivers which bode well with the growth in the marketplace including:

  • Optimism – confidence swells on back of revenue growth
  • Customer demands – print is a service industry meeting changing client needs
  • A changing product mix – from mass production to mass customization
  • Digital technology is the change enabler in business growth
  • Textile print growth in graphics, garment, décor, and industrial markets
  • The future of Sign & Display printing is integrated with digital media

According to FESPA CEO Neil Felton, “The FESPA Print Census paints a clear picture of an energized community in which business leaders have a clear and positive vision of the future and are reaping the commercial rewards. Despite a mixed macro-economic picture globally, printers across continents are responding to clients’ changing needs, diversifying their product offering, making calculated technology investments with a focus on efficiency and mass customisation, and embracing the changing role of print in the communications mix.”
