Press release from the issuing company

SPRINGFIELD, MA - With the recent addition of new supplier members Valco Melton and manroland Sheetfed GmbH, the Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) has expanded its reservoir of supplier knowledge to help converters optimize their folding carton operations.

Founded in 1952 and headquartered in Cincinnati, OH, Valco Melton has been providing adhesive and quality assurance systems to the confectionary, beverage, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and restaurant industries since 1980.

A leading global producer of sheetfed offset printing presses and related technologies, manroland Sheetfed GmbH was founded in 1871. With specialized solutions including inline foilers and coaters, manroland helps converters to maximize efficiency and spearhead innovation.

“I extend a warm welcome to Valco Melton and manroland,” said Ben Markens, President of PPC. “I can’t understate the importance of our supplier members. Put simply, their expertise helps converters be better boxmakers.”

With specialized knowledge of the folding converting process, PPC’s supplier members serve as an important educational resource. PPC’s upcoming Spring Meeting in Salt Lake City, UT (April 8-10), will feature an annual Associate Member Showcase Breakfast, where suppliers share their latest innovations with converters. During the general session, a supplier member will lead a workshop on how to reduce paperboard waste throughout the converting process.

Serving as an interface between converters and suppliers of paperboard packaging, PPC also directs converters to the suppliers that can meet their specialized needs, thereby driving efficiency and value creation throughout the industry.

“We often receive calls from members looking for a specific type of paperboard or other product,” said Markens. “By identifying appropriate suppliers, we can help converters quickly find the materials they need, and help our Associate members forge relations with new customers. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
