Marketing Service Providers Streamline Their Finishing with Duplo

Wednesday, February 11, 2015

Press release from the issuing company

Media Tech Plus, in Winter Park, FL, recently installed the Duplo DC-616 PRO Slitter/Cutter/Creaser. Designed to remove white borders and prevent toner cracking on digital color documents, the DC-616 PRO processes multiple slits, cuts and creases in a single pass. Additionally, users can apply up to two perforations along the length of the sheet with the standard perforation unit. “We used to cut on a guillotine cutter, and perforating and scoring was done on a separate machine,” says Rafael Otero, manager at Media Tech Plus. “The DC-616 PRO has streamlined our process and allowed us to be more efficient. We use it for business cards, tri-fold cards, brochures, and perforating CD tray cards and some contact forms. The possibilities with the DC-616 PRO are endless and we are constantly looking for new ways to streamline our production process.” Media Tech Plus is a marketing service provider helping customers integrate digital media into cross media marketing campaigns.

AlphaGraphics, in Bryan, TX, has added the Duplo DC-646 Slitter/Cutter/Creaser to their shop. With the DC-646, AlphaGraphics has the ability to finish unique full-bleed applications with more efficiency and flexibility. “The DC-646 has cut down the number of touches required for small jobs, resulting in faster turnaround times and reduced costs,” says Russell Price, president of AlphaGraphics. Performing up to 8 slits, 25 cuts and 20 creases in a single pass, the DC-646 eliminates white borders and prevents toner cracking on fold lines up to 30 sheets per minute and also offers optional rotary tool and cross perforating modules, both with strike-perforating capabilities, for increased versatility. “The majority of jobs done on the DC-646 are business cards. Previously these had to be taken to a cutter where they would sit until we had a large number of orders and then they would all be cut down. Now they are done by the digital operator,” adds Price. AlphaGraphics is a global leader in marketing and print communications. Each AlphaGraphics center is locally owned and offers products from direct mail campaigns and brochures to mobile sites.
