Veritiv to Host 25th Chicago Paper Show, Nation’s Largest Graphic Design Event Sponsored by a Paper Distributor

ATLANTA and LOVELAND, Ohio Veritiv Corporation (NYSE: VRTV) will host its 25th annual Chicago Paper Show on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at the Westin Chicago River North. Veritiv was formed in July 2014 following the merger of xpedx and Unisource.

The Veritiv Chicago Paper Show is the nation's largest graphic design event sponsored by a paper distributor. The invitation-only show attracts approximately 1,000 prominent designers and commercial printers from the Greater Chicago area ? one of the leading graphic arts markets in the U.S. 

“Veritiv has a strong presence in the vibrant Chicago graphic arts community,” said Dan Watkoske, Senior Vice President, Print for Veritiv. “This year’s Chicago Paper Show is both a celebration of 25 years of history in this important market and the first year as our new company, Veritiv. The theme of this year’s show is Truth, which reflects the meaning of our new company name.”

The 25th Annual Veritiv Chicago Paper Show will include a keynote presentation featuring 25 Chicago-based Designers Convey Their Interpretation of Truth. Other exhibits include:

Chicago 50 Corporate Communications Show:  Corporate communications materials on display, including annual reports, brochures, and sustainability reports from 50 of Chicago’s leading companies and institutions

The Strathmore Archive:  A one-time exhibition with a curated selection from more than 100 years of historic Strathmore Paper promotions 

U360 Design Show:  Appleton Coated’s showcase of the winning entries from its 2014 design competition

Environmental exhibitions:  Displays by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) and Sustainable Forestry Initiative Inc.® (SFI®). 

Other exhibitors include Munro Campagna Artist Representatives and the Society of TypoGraphic Arts, as well as some of the world’s leading paper mills including: Appleton Coated, CTI Paper USA, Domtar Corporation, French Paper, Graphic Wood Technologies, Groupo Portucel Soporcel, International Paper, MACtac, MeadWestvaco, Mohawk Fine Papers, Neenah Paper, NewPage, ReichPaper, Sappi Fine Paper, Whiting Paper, and YUPO. For the first time, this year, the show will feature three wide-format mills: Adder America, Catalina Graphic Films, and Ultraflex Systems.

Proceeds from show admission will benefit Marwen (www.marwen.org), a nationally recognized art education organization, providing hundreds of free visual arts programs to underserved Chicago youth.
