Media Graphix Purchases Fourth Komori Press

Press release from the issuing company

Five-color GL40 with Coater Opens up New Markets for Atlanta-based Commercial Printer

Rolling Meadows, ILKomori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, announced that Media Graphix, founded in Atlanta in 1993, has installed a new five-color Lithrone G40 with coater (GL540C), the fourth Komori press the company has purchased over its 21 year history. The company chose the Komori GL540C for its ability to efficiently print on a variety of substrates and produce outstanding print quality.

“This press is leap years ahead in terms of automation and it is opening up new doors for us by making it possible to provide the high-end applications marketing agencies and product marketers require,” said Sam Asadi, vice president, Media Graphix. “My press operators are blown away with the speed of the press and the vibrancy of color it produces.”

Key drivers in the selection of the press were Komori’s revolutionary KHS-AI intelligent software with self-learning and the PDC-SX color scanner that allows the press operators to get up to color and registration extremely fast. Media Graphix reports it is running 16,000 impressions an hour on the GL540C and has cut its makeready time in more than half. In addition to high print quality and productivity, the GL40 presses save energy and resources, reduce harmful chemical substances such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released during printing and reduce noise.

“Media Graphix is a long-time customer of Komori’s and we are thrilled that the GL540C is making new opportunities possible for them,” said Jacki Hudmon, senior vice president of sales for Komori.
