MidAtlantic Printing Association Appoints New President

Press release from the issuing company

Columbia, Maryland - The Printing and Graphics Association MidAtlantic (PGAMA) is pleased to announce that Jay Goldscher has been appointed President of the organization. PGAMA is the 120-year old trade association for printing and graphic communications firms and suppliers in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia and southern Pennsylvania.

Goldscher brings a wealth of industry specific knowledge to PGAMA, along with a long history of leadership experience. He was most recently the Vice President of HBP, and previously held roles as CEO of HBP/Whitmore, CEO of Whitmore Group, and Vice President of Sales for Graphtec, Inc. He began his career as President at Wolk Press in 1977.

Along with his executive experience, Jay is an expert at strategic and long term planning; sales and marketing management; and team building and community relationships. He is also a veteran of government relations activities, formerly serving as Chairman of PGAMA’s Government Affairs Committee, as well as on the Association’s Board of Directors. In addition, Jay held the position of Chairman of the Marketing Committee for Printing Industries of America and served on its Board of Directors.

PGAMA’s Chairman of the Board Rusty Coolidge says, “I am certain that with Jay’s executive leadership skills, PGAMA is well positioned for ongoing growth and success in the coming years. PGAMA has accomplished many major milestones recently, including expanding membership territory to encompass the entire state of Virginia and launching Print Grows Trees, the highly successful consumer awareness campaign about the printing industry. Jay will build on those achievements and continue to expand and tailor the valued member benefits which have been the hallmark of PGAMA since 1894.”

Jay added, “I look forward to working directly with PGAMA members and their Board to enhance the business climate for the printing and graphic communications industry by providing firms with the tools, services, and benefits they need to succeed in today’s market. My varied experience in all aspects of management and sales gives me a unique and empathetic perspective when working with people. The greater the challenge the more interesting is the journey to find a solution.”
