Press release from the issuing company

Enter the ASDPT Tom Frecska Student Printing Competition now!

Fairfax, Virginia - Get your entries in now for the Tom Frecska Student Printing Competition, sponsored by the Academy of Screen and Digital Printing Technologies (ASDPT). This competition honors superior imaging work from secondary (high school and vocational) and post-secondary (technical school, college or university) students. All entries must be received by July 31.

Submitted work is eligible for the following awards:

  • Award of Excellence
First place winners within each category will receive an Academy Student Achievement Award
  • Certificate of Merit
An honorable mention may be awarded from each category
  • Best in Show
Two exceptional entries (one from each division, secondary and post-secondary) will be chosen from the Award of Excellence winners, and honored with Best of Show (and a cash prize of $500 to use toward their graphic arts education). Instructors will also receive $500 to use toward their school’s graphic arts educational program.

This unique opportunity takes students’ work to the industry, where Academy experts evaluate their best projects, and provide inroads to future employers. All submissions will be displayed in the Golden Image gallery at the 2014 SGIA Expo (Las Vegas, October 22–24).

To be eligible, instructors must hold an active educational membership with SGIA, and all entries must be produced during the 2013–2014 school year. Teachers are encouraged to submit multiple entries on their students’ behalf, in any of the 24 categories. Entries must be submitted by July 31, 2014, so get your entries in now! Visit SGIA.org for more information, or to download the entry form.
