Donnelley & Sons Company has added powerful new electronic proof routing tools, new paper simulations, and performance enhancements to its ShareStream(TM) integrated soft-proofing solution. ShareStream, which received Specifications for Web Offset Publications (SWOP) certification for color fidelity last year, has been enhanced to support electronic proof routing. RR Donnelley customers can now automatically and efficiently route their soft-proofing content through a customized approval workflow tailored to their organization. ShareStream electronic routing organizes team members into groups with appropriate rights to approve or comment on pages at different stages in the process. Each team member is notified by e-mail when an asset is ready for their approval or review and they simply visit their ShareStream online proofing inbox to see the assets needing their attention. A process that once required a great deal of human attention to complete can now be done automatically and efficiently with no lag time or time lost looking for proofs. ShareStream also retains the change history of assets and logs changes made to documents through the approval process, making it easy to refer back to past comments or previous versions. In addition, users benefit from a wider variety of supported paper simulations. Now more users can see what their project will look like on-press under a wider variety of conditions. Underlying the new functionality are significant improvements to the rendering speed of even the most complex documents.
