Ipex 2014’s World Print Summit Gathers Momentum

Press release from the issuing company

The latest details of the highly-anticipated World Print Summit have been announced. A senior level, strategic thought leadership event that takes place at the heart of Ipex 2014 at the ExCeL London (24-29 March 2014), the World Print Summit will deliver a pertinent content programme that will define the fast-evolving print industry.

Featuring 15 inspirational keynote speakers and 25 insightful and relevant presentations on the future of print, this forum provides printers with exclusive access to previously unheard content that will deliver the leading insights into the evolving role and power of print.

With profitability and progress a key theme, the summit’s distinguished line-up of keynotes – featuring industry thought leaders including Frank Romano (Rochester Institute of Technology), Patrick Martell (St. Ives Group), Benny Landa (Landa) and Barry Hibbert (Polestar) – will discuss and debate the trends, innovations and pitfalls of the regenerating print industry.

Other key highlights include leading futurologist and author Richard Watson exploring the immediate future of print to help printers make the right strategic decisions before forecasting the print industry’s development over the next 25 years, while Clive Humby – chief architect behind the Tesco Clubcard – will be sharing his expertise of dealing with big data and using it to promote loyalty through understanding your customers through print.

Professor Emeritus Frank Romano, internationally acclaimed award-winning sales educator and customer contact strategist, Rochester Institute of Technology, comments: “Printers from around the world converge in the UK every four years at Ipex to see the very latest innovations from exhibitors – big and small. Over the years, Ipex has witnessed the introduction of major offset press innovations, as well as the very first digital colour presses. I am a huge supporter of the event, and it will be an honour to present at Ipex 2014's World Print Summit. I look forward to seeing you there.”

“I’m delighted to be involved with the World Print Summit at Ipex 2014,” says Barry Hibbert, Chief Executive, Polestar. “Featuring some great thought leaders from the print and the media industry, the speaker line-up reflects the attraction of an international event with such a rich heritage. This is important because, while everyone knows that we’re operating in a very difficult economic climate, not everyone realises just how robust the industry is and how you can still prosper within it. Print has consistently proven to be a sound business model, and while we should embrace digital and online channels, history dictates that print has to be at the forefront of what we do. You can see by what Polestar is still achieving that print is still a force to be reckoned with. I believe this will be evident across Ipex 2014, and through the insights provided by the World Print Summit.”

Benny Landa, Founder and CEO, Landa, adds: "The Ipex 2014 World Print Summit provides a forum for industry leaders to explore factors impacting the industry – from the mindset of consumers and service providers to new technologies such as Nanography™ – which herald a paradigm shift for printing in the 21st century."

Clive Humby, chief architect of the Tesco Clubcard, comments: "I'm delighted to have been asked to speak at Ipex 2014. It seems big data is rarely far from the headlines these days and in the globally competitive world we all work in, it’s important to use it effectively.”

Richard Watson, leading futurologist and author of The Future Files, says: "It's a pleasure to be speaking at Ipex 2014. Like so many industries, print is going through revolutionary times with the full impact of the digital world still being discovered. I'm really looking forward to exploring some of the possible scenarios for this fascinating industry.”

“This event brings together visionary and ambitious speakers from across the international print-supply chain and has been developed to inspire,” says Ruth Clougherty, Content Producer, Ipex 2014’s World Print Summit. “Taking place in a state of the art auditorium, our keynotes speakers will no doubt spark some heated debates on how to thrive in the highly competitive and streamlined print industry. These are speakers who have entered markets where others have dared not tread, invested in new technologies that others have shied away from, and been brave enough to create a culture of exploration, failure and innovation. The World Print Summit is an event not to be missed.”
