QuadTech appoints Scitus Print Solutions as agent for packaging and security print controls

Press release from the issuing company

QuadTech puts emphasis on consultative approach in offering customised, value-enhancing press controls for UK and Ireland packaging and security print sectors with appointment of Oldham-based agency

Sussex, Wisconsin, USA - QuadTech, Inc., worldwide leader in press control technology including colour measurement, register, inspection, and data management products, has increased its commitment to the UK’s flexible packaging and security printers by adding Scitus Print Solutions to its global network of sales and service operations.

Headed by Richard Warnick, who has over 20 years' experience in the print and packaging sector, Scitus supplies solutions and systems that help printers reduce waste and make optimum use of manufacturing assets. The company’s area of expertise covers print, coating and specialty conversion in flexo, gravure, and offset narrow and wide web applications.

Karl Fritchen, president of QuadTech, comments: “The threat posed by counterfeit goods has fuelled demand for sophisticated methods of brand authentication, especially in markets like pharmaceuticals, healthcare, wines and luxury goods. Packaging and label converters are increasingly expected to incorporate features such as holograms, conductive inks, optically variable images and covert effects visible under UV light, into their designs. QuadTech’s closed-loop press control technology, including 100% inspection, register control and colour measurement throughout the run, provides reassurance in situations like these, where precision print results are essential. Richard’s expertise in security and packaging strengthens our ability to offer tailored, performance-boosting  solutions to these growing sectors.”

Richard Warnick, director of Scitus Print Solutions, comments: “Responsiveness, minimising time to market, eradicating waste, and reducing set up times are the keys to maintaining the edge in an increasingly competitive global market. QuadTech not only offers excellent technology, but industry-leading technical support and a commitment to providing custom-tuned solutions that empower the printer to get the artwork through the workflow quickly and precisely at the first attempt.“

QuadTech’s offerings to the packaging sector, including 100% inspection, spectral colour measurement, register control and closed-loop workflows with PDF comparison, have a proven ability to reduce setup times and achieve optimum quality faster and consistently throughout the run. Recent QuadTech innovations include on-the-fly inspection on thin, unsupported, reflective and transparent surfaces, as well as the new Color Quality Solution, which shares and processes data from in-line and off-line colour measurement technology, thus shortening the press make-ready process.
