eCopy Announces Availability of eCopy Connector for Documentum

Press release from the issuing company

November 10, 2003 -- eCopy, an innovative provider of document distribution and integration solutions, today announced a partnership with Documentum, the leading provider of enterprise content management (ECM), and the availability of the eCopy Connector for Documentum, which enables Documentum customers to capture and transmit their paper-based content directly into their Documentum repositories. "With the eCopy Connector for Documentum, users will be able to extend their Documentum repositories by sharing, modifying, and distributing information that was originally only available on paper," said Marc Burckin, vice president of partner integrations for Documentum. "Users will see their overall document workflow improve through the integration of the eCopy Connector software with the Documentum ECM platform and the ability to use the office copier to input paper documents." Using the eCopy Connector for Documentum, customers can scan and distribute paper documents from their office scanner or Canon digital copier, and integrate scanned documents into their Documentum repository. The eCopy software also extracts text from the scanned document right at the copier or scanner that is used by Documentum for full-text indexing and subsequent full-text search and retrieval. “The eCopy Connector for Documentum adds a new dimension of efficiency and value to the Documentum document and content management system,” said Bill Rattner, CMO for Daybreak Intellectual Capital Solutions. “As a systems integrator and Signature Partner for Documentum, our goal is to ensure Documentum customers get the most value from their deployments. The eCopy Connector for Documentum will enable us to seamlessly move paper documents into Documentum repositories, giving our customers a more productive and cost effective way to share information.” The eCopy Suite, coupled with the high-speed scanning capabilities of a scanner or Canon digital copier, enables any organization to transform paper documents into information that is easily integrated into commonly used business applications. Using the eCopy Suite, companies can provide open access to high-speed scanning that connects to the company’s e-mail, document management systems, and other networked enterprise applications for low-cost, easy, instantaneous distribution and management of electronic copies of paper documents. “Our partnership with Documentum furthers our strategy to offer seamless integration with the leaders in the enterprise content management space,” said Noel O’Dwyer, director of strategic alliances for eCopy, Inc. “We are committed to offering customers a solution that works with their existing applications adding value to their current technology infrastructures.”
