PDI Announces Graph Expo Results

RACINE, WIS., (November 10, 2003) -- The many attendees who visited Printing Developments Inc. (PDI) during Graph Expo 2003 have turned into a sizeable amount of new leads, demos and installs, due to Delta 830 , PDIís new polymer CTP plate product that was introduced during the show. Tom Bevan, Director of Sales & Marketing for PDI, reports upwards of 20 solid leads, with approximately 12 active demos in the works. Moreover, six new plate system installs are planned between now and the end of the year. "Delta 830 proved to be a tremendous draw during Graph Expo based on its simplicity, efficiency and performance, both in quality and durability," says Bevan. "We're anticipating that more and more printers will see the value Delta 830 supplies for a wide range of print requirements. Our goal with our new plate is to make CTP printing as simple as 'image', 'process', 'go'." Delta 830 is designed for sheet-fed and web printers to supply superior prepress efficiency and on press performance. Like many of PDI's existing products, Delta 830 is a high-quality print solution for use across many offset market segments, including packaging, publication and catalog, and commercial. Itís new and highly durable proprietary polymer surface gives vast printing latitude -- up to one million impressions -- no matter the printing segment. The system that show attendees saw was a platesetter and a single processor that uses just six linear feet of floor space. Advantages of the system include: Faster prepress. Out of the imager, Delta's single-stage processor works in less than 2 minutes versus up to 12 minutes for other plates. No baking. None. Nada. Zip. Printers reduce prepress and on-press variables, such as possible pre-bake related imaging problems and post-bake plate cracking that contribute to costly downtime. No chemical replenishment or disposal. Replenishment chemistry is not needed, making processing simpler and less costly. This development is particularly important for medium and smaller printing companies with less plate throughput. All PDI chemistry is recycled through PDI's Chemical Recycling Program, which eliminates down-the-drain disposal issues.
