CGS’ Cloud-Based Color Management Technology Drives Xerox’s New FreeFlow Solution

Press release from the issuing company

ORIS measurement and tracking software to work directly with in-line spectrophotometers on Xerox digital presses

Chicago – CGS has announced a cloud-based color management solution to support digital presses controlled by Xerox’s FreeFlow Print Server and the new Xerox IntegratedPLUS Automated Color Management. The system uses ORIS color measurement and tracking software directly with the in-line spectrophotometer (ILS) of Xerox’s iGen Presses to automatically monitor color status for an entire “fleet” of digital devices.

Xerox has received a “Must See ’Em” for the IntegratedPLUS Automated Color Management, which will be demonstrated at the Xerox booth (1202) at PRINT 13.

“The color quality potential of IntegratedPLUS cannot be overstated,” said David Palmieri, CGS’ Director of Business Alliances. “Of all our color development partners, Xerox has taken the lead by using ORIS software directly with their ILS. This eliminates the manual measurement process and makes it possible to easily diagnose color compliance remotely—for digital presses, anywhere in the world.”

Using the Cloud

IntegratedPLUS Automated Color Management uses the Software-as-a-Service model to remotely manage multiple color devices over a secure Internet connection. The ORIS module uses the press’ ILS to automatically measure the color values of a control strip—and compare those values with a standardized profile target file. IntegratedPLUS Automated Color Management can then determine whether or not the device is performing to specification, providing data that can easily be used in combination with CGS tools to diagnose and fix problems, as well as plan routine calibration and maintenance. Measurement data is stored on a secure, SQL-based, online database, allowing administrators to easily monitor color performance at any location.

Printers with brand-critical customers and those with high standards for color quality and consistency will realize immediate benefits with IntegratedPLUS Automated Color Management. The ability to centrally measure color compliance on any device—and to do so without a costly manual step—means that true “enterprise color” is finally a reality.

“We’re pleased with the results of Xerox’s cloud-based color management approach,” said Palmieri. “We’re looking forward to continuing our collaboration, and to adding even more ORIS capabilities to their outstanding product.”

Interviews

CGS will be available to discuss the Xerox IntegratedPLUS Automated Color Management at the CGS booth (2644) and at the Xerox booth (1202) at PRINT 13.
