INX International to Spotlight “The FX of INX” & the advantages of UV LED at Print ‘13

Press release from the issuing company

Schaumburg, IL - INX International Ink Co. (booth 217) is placing its focus at Print ‘13 on evolving industry elements that are experiencing growth.  Beginning this Sunday, September 8 and running through September 12 at McCormick Place in Chicago, visitors can learn about new technical advances as part of “The FX of INX”, and how commercial, packaging and digital printers can experience increased size, speed, safety and more to impact their business.

Segments of the INX booth will be characterized by a different FX made possible by INX products, including new ink platforms, curing technologies, alternative digital inks and innovative equipment for label and industrial printing.  For example, sheetfed printers can learn how to achieve a faster return on their investment by retrofitting their presses to LED UV.

“UV LED will be a major concentration for us from both a traditional and digital printing perspective,” said Rick Clendenning, President and CEO of INX International Ink Co.  “From the exciting new developments taking place with UV LED ink technology to unique products such as our NW140 inkjet UV digital narrow web press, I believe we are well positioned in the marketplace.  I welcome all printers to visit our booth and can assure them it will be time well spent.”

INX, in tandem with Air Motion Systems (AMS), will show the value in retrofitting presses to LED UV with PEAK LED-UV™.  It produces new levels in high LED intensity, working distance, uniformity, durability and ease of use, and opens the door for curing innovations in offset, flexo and digital applications.  Compatible with the AMS curing unit, INXCure™ LED OSF process inks are 100% reactive inks that offer superior printing properties and are suitable for high-end sheetfed applications.

One specific FX area will showcase UV inks and coatings that create textured feels, soft touches, pearlescent glows, high contrast glosses and gleaming metallic finishes.  For improved reproduction on wide and superwide displays, an FX station will be dedicated to the company’s alternative digital inks. Another section in the booth will conduct live demonstrations of Triangle™ MED.  These flexible UV LED inks are used with the Mimaki 3042 desktop printer and available in six colors plus white.  They provide greater adhesion to multiple substrates in comparison to the OEM product, including a wider variety of plastics.

The NW140 UV digital narrow web press continues to impress in the marketplace and make headlines.  Powered by the JetINX™ printhead drive and ink recirculation system, this incredibly fast press produces UV LED cure single pass output up to 80 feet per minute on label stock.  It combines printing and conversion by using the Spartanics X140 laser die cutting station to provide vivid color and easy separation of printed labels.

INX will also participate with host Air Motion Systems in a one hour seminar about UV LED Curing.  Designed for Sheetfed Offset printers and Flexographic narrow web label converters, the session takes place on September 10 from 12:30 - 1:30 pm in room S404BC and is free to all registered Print ’13 attendees.

Additionally, Low Migration inks and Food Packaging protocols throughout the world continue to be updated on a regular basis and INX will address these vital issues at the show.  Print ‘13 visitors can pick up a copy of “Low Migration Inks in Packaging,” a helpful and comprehensive guide developed primarily for food package providers to understand the challenges the packaging industry faces today.  It details the most relevant regulations and standards, and offers supply chain links, responsibilities and recommendations for print production processes.  INX will have experts available in the booth to discuss.
