Melissa Jones Named Graphic Arts Association President

Press release from the issuing company

Trevose, Pennsylvania – The Board of Directors of the Graphic Arts Association has appointed Melissa Jones President of the GAA upon retirement of Marge Baumhauer.

Jones is a resident of Swedesboro, NJ and has served as the Vice President of Membership and Marketing for the past year as well as Director of Membership from 2001 to 2005. This has given her wide contact with the GAA members and the opportunity to visit numerous plants in the Tri-State region. The Graphic Arts Association is a not-for-profit regional print trade association and manages PA, DE and NJ for the Printing Industries of America. It currently serves over 240 member companies.

Jones stated, “I am very excited about the opportunity to serve the current and future members of the Graphic Arts Association. Founded in 1888, the Association has a rich history of dedication to the Printing Industry. I am proud to have been selected to not only continue the level of service that our members have counted on for decades, but to create new and exciting resources for our members to utilize throughout their businesses. Leading the Association into the future is a welcomed challenge for me. Here’s to the next 125 years!

The main reason I accepted the position of President is because I love our members. They are not only skilled craftsmen (and women) but also a genuinely good bunch of individuals. I have had the honor of not once but twice working with this group as an employee of GAA and to be honest, there is no place I’d rather be. The industry, albeit changing in its dynamic, is vibrant, exciting and ripe with potential. What an exciting field to be working in!”

Jones assumed the position of President on July 1, 2013.  Marge Baumhauer, the former President, will be staying on with GAA for the next 6 months to focus on special projects.
