adphosNIR® Photonic Drying and Curing Fascinates the Visitors at LOPE-C Exhibition With Its Easy Adaptability

Press release from the issuing company

At the 5th international LOPE-C exhibition for Printed Electronics, adphos, an international leader in photonic heating, drying and curing technologies, exhibited through live demonstrations the special capability, performance and easy adaptability of the company-developed and widely patented adphosNIR® technology.

At the demo line of OEA-members, the manufacturing of a battery tester in real-time demonstrated the adphosNIR® capability of pure physical drying for both PEDOT and chromatic coatings and the photonic drying and sintering of the applied nanosilver ink on a coated paper web.

At the Ceradrop booth, the inline instantaneous photonic drying and sintering of the Ink- Jetable coatings (e.g. conductive silver inks) was highlighted through a live print pattern operation. (Ceradrop is a leader in high performance Ink Jet printing solutions.)

At the adphos booth, visitors verified for themselves the easy adaptation of the adphosNIR® technology for screen printed conductive pattern on a graphite coating.

Finally, in cooperation with Saueressig Flexo GmbH & Co. KG, a pilot roll-to-roll flexo process demonstrated and proved adphosNIR® photonic sintering of the silver ink (by Sun Chemical) within 0.2 s (!) on a powercoat® –paper substrate (made by Arjowiggins Creative Papers).

Visitors were most attracted by the flexibility and wide range adaptability of the adphosNIR® technology.  The live demonstrations justified the applicability from its first lab R&D studies to pilot and even full-scale PE production range. Visitors also recognized the enormous cost advantages compared to the Xe-pulsed photonic curing systems, which required only 1/6 – 1/8 of the Xe-pulsed equipment costs - less than ½ of the energy consumption and also only 1/3 of the spare part costs. As a result, current use of adphosNIR® in numerous open projects and the fast growth of PE applications for the photonic curing technology certainly supports your potential process to make an affordable PE product.
