The Kern Group Introduces the New Kern Office, a Desktop Self-Miler

Press release from the issuing company

London, UK - Kern’s latest innovation in white paper solutions is the Office, a new desktop Self-Mailer which is a compact solution for small and medium document production.  The Kern Office is a simple and secure solution that provides cost savings in paper and operations, all while creating an effective one-piece mailer for a large variety of application types.

The Kern Office provides additional cost-savings by eliminating the need for envelopes and allowing the use of plain paper that can be printed on in the copy room. This also saves valuable storage space.

The Kern Office is able to process a range of plain cut sheets from sources such as laser printers and pre-printing processes, and transform the paper into a personalized mailpiece.  Smaller users in all markets who want to increase the impact and ‘openability’ of their mailpiece can use Kern Office to process targeted messages directly on each mailpiece. Transforming a standard business envelope is into a marketing platform.

The Kern Office is able to undertake complex tasks that include feeding, gluing, folding, perforating, cutting and output stacking for portrait or landscape mode.  The machine can also process A4 landscape, folded once and centre cut. Impressive speeds of up to 7,500 items per hour are possible for jobs as diverse as direct mail or voucher printing.

The Kern Office also allows a configuration in its folding module to have mailers with three folds for portrait and landscape mode, guaranteeing that items containing private information are completely secure.

Other features include an intelligent electronic system which manages the entire process, blocking double sheet insertions and turning off the system when it runs out of paper.

Clive Martin, Strategic Business Manager at Kern, said “We are very proud of the Kern Office, it is a superb addition to the portfolio and puts the benefits of white paper mailings into the hands of smaller users.”
