Free PaperSpecs Webinar: Composing Your Color Story

Press release from the issuing company

Palo Alto, California – What would change if designers built their color palettes in context, much as a musician selects notes for a score or a chef chooses spices for a meal? Would the design’s impact be more powerful ... its effect more enduring?

Jack Bredenfoerder, director of BV Color Strategy and special guest speaker at "Composing Your Color Story," believes emphatically that it would.

"Composing Your Color Story," the next in PaperSpecs’ on-going free webinar series, will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013. During the 60-minute online seminar, Bredenfoerder, a seasoned color design and marketing professional, will:

  • Reveal new insights into color theory (Have we placed too much emphasis on individual colors and their meaning?)
  • Provide unique tips and tools for achieving true color expression (Do you know how to use visualization to put colors together), and
  • Show examples of successful color stories (What would a palette focused on the major colors of 2013 look like?).

"Colors are often translated into design as one-dimensional personalities (blue is trustworthy, pink is feminine, purple is regal) that come together through a wheel of primary, secondary and complimentary relationships," says Sabine Lenz, founder of PaperSpecs. "Jack thinks about color strategy in a really different way. He uses an emotional color wheel and the context of a larger story to create compelling color palettes that convey memorable brand messaging and identity."

Webinar Highlights

  • Five Elements of Successful Color Strategy
  • Color as the Spice of Design
  • Building a Color Story through Visualization
  • Finding Inspiration for Color Spaces
  • Palette Examples – Simple, Proportioned
  • Branding – Color Themes are Product Pillars

"Attendees will come away inspired to create color strategies as if they were blending a fine wine or mixing a rare perfume or composing a great symphony," says Bredenfoerder.
