Press release from the issuing company

Monochrome 50 ppm device offers high-capacity output and flexible cost control

MALVERN, PA – Ricoh Americas Corporation today announced the SP 8300DN monochrome laser printer, offering new value for print-for-pay businesses and their customers.

The SP 8300DN is a reliable, cost-conscious, network-ready printer ideal for college campuses, libraries or any institution that needs to offer custom charge options. It provides new ways to establish, control and monitor print-for-pay operations, including charges, secure access, job configuration and more.

The 50 ppm device includes high-capacity paper options to handle large volumes of documents up to 11 inches by 17 inches as well as cost-reducing features to control unnecessary printing. Expandable security features such as locked print, hold print, store print and unauthorized copy control can help protect users from having their print jobs fall into the wrong hands.

The SP 8300DN is built on Ricoh’s new intelligent MFP technology platform, which is designed to seamlessly interface with the Web and cloud services. The platform offers mobility and security for optimal information input, processing and output in any setting. For example, walk-in users can print from portable media such as thumb drives using the device’s integrated USB/SD slots.

Successor to the SP 8200DN, the latest device includes a customizable 4.3-inch touch screen color LCD control panel. A built-in MFP Web browser enables users to navigate and print from the Web, and allows for access to cloud services, including applications for document capture, management, storage, processing (e.g., OCR), printing, sharing, customer relationship management and more.

Print-for-pay establishments can gain even more control over print requests when the

SP 8300DN is combined with Ricoh’s device management and reporting software, @Remote, which can monitor fleets of networked printers and MFPs in real time, offering new levels of convenience, optimization and productivity.

Other printer features include an optional 120 GB hard disk drive for handling larger one-off, print-on-demand jobs. An innovative Eco Night Sensor that saves energy by turning the printer off or into sleep mode after a room goes dark.

In addition to print-for-pay establishments, other cost-conscious, mid-volume print environments can benefit from the versatile SP 8300DN, including host print environments, small data centers, healthcare facilities, financial institutions and government agencies.

The SP 8300DN is available now for a suggested retail price of $3,060 (USD). To learn more about Ricoh’s full line of products, services and solutions, please visit http://www.ricoh-usa.com.
