RealTimeImage Joins CIP4, First JDF Implementation with Esko-Graphics

Press release from the issuing company

Athens, Greece - February 26, 2004 - RealTimeImage, Inc., (RTI) the world's online proofing leader, is pleased to announce it has joined The International Cooperation for the Integration of Processes in Prepress, Press and Postpress (CIP4) as a full member. In conjunction, the company also announces the development of a JDF Application Server, to be first deployed to connect the RealTimeProof system with Esko-Graphics' prepress solution. "CIP4's JDF specification is an important, burgeoning standard for automated workflows. Many of our customers are seriously weighing the move to JDF, and so we will, as always, be a step ahead of them so that they are not delayed when they choose to implement this comprehensive workflow standard," said Yehuda Messinger, executive vice president, RealTimeImage Graphic Arts Division. "In addition to becoming a full member of the CIP4 organization and looking forward to continued active involvement in JDF, we're very pleased to be able to announce the development of our JDF Application Server, to be first deployed with Esko-Graphics, a prestigious partner with which to begin our JDF support." The Job Definition Format (JDF) specification provides a common syntax and agreement for how to automate workflows, preserve job data and instructions throughout a print job's lifecycle, and for messaging to, and between, individual devices on the shop floor. "It's the support and involvement of leading companies like RealTimeImage that will help propel JDF," says James E. Harvey, Executive Director of the CIP4 Organization.
